At Gelinas Carr, we design and handcraft custom furniture at our studio in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island, located midway between Victoria and Naniamo.
We build honest, clean, contemporary furniture one piece at a time. Careful consideration is given to line, weight and proportion of each element as well as the whole. Beautiful materials, carefully chosen and matched for grain and colour give each piece its own ‘personality.’
Our aim is to build timeless pieces, rich with detail. Some details are intended to be noticed from across the room, while others are more subtle, meant to be experienced up close.
The sustainability of our furniture is important to us
We believe first and foremost that the inherent quality of our work means it will be around for generations. We use locally sourced materials whenever possible as well as domestic hardwoods, and use naturally derived, non toxic finishes.
We value the process of working closely with our customers, blending our style with their ideas to create pieces that are uniquely suited to each individual.
